U.S. News & World Report saluted the nationally recognized blending of quality and affordability at MSU by naming MSU a “Best Value” for 2005 – the only public university in the Big Ten to be so recognized.

Eighty-eight percent of MSU's students are Michigan residents. MSU enrolls 17 percent of all students attending public four-year institutions in Michigan.

The 2005-06 budget is intended to preserve and build upon MSU's stature as one of the top 100 research universities in the world and its significant impact as a 21st century land-grant university.
