Increase in a Nutshell

2005-06 tuition and fee rates reflect a tuition increase of 8.4 percent, an energy fee, a new rate structure for entering undergraduate students and program-based fees for select upper-division majors.

Partial rebates will be provided for the energy fee and the rate adjustment for new students.

For new freshmen or sophomores taking 30 credits per year and living in the residence halls, the cost for 2005-06 will be $13,689, an increase of $1,231 over 2004-05 or 9.9 percent.

For returning lower-division students, a similar cost will be $13,396, an increase of $939 or 7.5 percent.
