What's next for Rasmussen: another Smithsonian research project

Rasmussen will be conducting field work in a remote area of northern Burma (Myanmar) this summer, on a National Geographic Society grant to the Smithsonian, where she is a co-principal investigator on the project.  The field work will take her to a normally inaccessible area of a northern region during June 2006 (with Smithsonian colleagues) and will likely result in considerable new data; for example, the team is hoping to encounter and study a new species of babbler just discovered in the region but still entirely unknown among humans.
