Dec. 10

After one night in Chengdu, it’s time to get back to work.  I take a bus back to Wolong.  I take advantage of my super long battery life on my new computer to work on my forestry term paper for the whole bus ride.  Aside from a few road bumps here and there, I thought it was a pretty productive writing session.  Once back in Wolong, I stop by the Ecology Office for their weekly Journal Club.  We had a nice chat and then we invited them for dinner.  It was another rousing event with lots of good cheer.

We are saying goodbye to my fellow Ph.D. student Wei Liu.  It is sad to see him go because he has been in Wolong for more than seven months.  I think he has earned “local resident” status in the eyes of everyone here.  At night I put the finishing touches on my paper and send it off.  Then I reinstall a bunch of programs in my computer.  I think I’m ready to go back up to Wuyipeng tomorrow and hopefully get back on track.
