
Saints' Rest:
Early Campus Life at Michigan State University
Saints' Rest is the university's first dormitory and was in use from 1856 until it was destroyed by fire in 1876. During Michigan State University's Sesquicentennial Year, an archaeological dig of the site will provide a compelling glimpse of student life in the Civil War era.
Open House: 3 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9;
2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10
Field School Dates: June 6 – July 15
Days/Hours: Monday through Friday, normal course hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – people will be welcome to come and watch and visit. Occasional weekend tours may also be available.
